Included is correspondence among members of theLeavenworth family: Frederick Peabody Leavenworth; his father, the Reverend Abner Johnson Leavenworth (1803-1869), Presbyterian clergyman and teacher, and president of Leavenworth Female College in Petersburg; his wife, Eliza Leavenworth; his daughter, Hester Leavenworth; and his aunt, Mary Ann Peabody of Petersburg.
